in 2022, I hit rock bottom.
Homeless. Broke. Alone.
But my real prison wasn’t the street — it was the loop inside my head.
Every waking moment was a cycle of lack.
“This is hopeless… I’ll never get out… maybe this is my life now.”
And the more I thought it, the more real it became.
That’s when I started writing poems.
Not pretty little verses — weapons.
I wrote and recited them like my life depended on it… because it did.
When I woke up? I recited.
Walking down the street? I recited.
When the negative thoughts came creeping in like rats in the night?
I cut them down with my words.
Slowly, my world started to transform.
Because my focus had shifted — from the ugly, external circumstances… to the beauty and power inside the poems.
I’ve always understood the science of creation.
We are constantly collapsing the wave function.
Our outer world is nothing more than an out-picturing of what’s going on inside.
I know this in my heart — and I know it logically.
But the difficulty is living it… holding onto that truth when you’re staring down horrific circumstances.
Your emotions and hard-wired beliefs about lack and limitation start wrestling with your deeper truths.
Joe Dispenza puts it perfectly:
“To change is to think greater than how we feel. To change is to act greater than the familiar feelings of the memorized self.”
— Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself
That’s the key — to act, think, and feel bigger than your environment long enough for your new reality to take root. Or as Dispenza also says:
“A new state of being creates a new personality … a new personality produces a new personal reality.”
— Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself
I’ve lived this truth. Many times. I’ve been crucified and come back to life more times than I can count — and each time, I’ve come back with a sharper sword.
Why Reprogramming the Subconscious Mind is the Real Battle
Reprogramming the subconscious mind is the single most powerful thing you can do to change your life. Your subconscious runs about 95% of your thoughts, actions, and emotional reactions. If those programs are based on lack, fear, and limitation, they’ll keep pulling you back no matter how hard you push forward. Change those programs, and you change the reality they create. That’s the work — and it’s worth everything.
Pattern Interrupt Tactics You Can Use Today
Here are a few simple tools I used to break the loops:
- Physical Break: Stand up suddenly, clap your hands, shake your body out.
- Word Reset: Say a power word out loud — “RESET!” or “NEXT!” — to break the mental loop.
- Visual Slash: Picture a sword cutting through a black fog or shattering a dark mirror.
- Flip the Script: Replace “I can’t” with “I’m learning to” — every single time it shows up.
